New carriers who have recently obtained their MC number should be cautious of an email regarding the new entrant audit.

The website it directs recipients to bears a striking resemblance to the legitimate login page of the FMCSA. It's important to exercise vigilance and verify the authenticity of any such communications to avoid potential scams.

Please note: that the legitimate portal does not ask for your Social Security Number.

The email from safer-public.com may appear legitimate, as it cleverly incorporates quotes from the Code of Federal Regulations to evoke a sense of authority and urgency. However, it's crucial to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of such communications before entering any vital information.
